| Dental Wellness: Frequently Asked Questions #19: There seems to be a lot of confusion about root canals. Are they good for you? | |
Perhaps the most comprehensive study on root canals was suppressed by the traditional dental community for over seventy (70) years. The study found that no medicament could traverse the tortuous channels within the tooth to kill harmful anaerobic bacteria and neutralize their resultant toxic waste products. In plain words, root canal therapy does not work in the majority of cases.
In cases where root canal therapy appears to work, my belief is that the body's immune system was strong enough to contain the bacterial toxins coming from infected root canals. When our immune systems become compromised, the toxins are no longer contained further weakening an already compromised immune system.
